Silverleaves water main burst

UPDATE: Westernport Water wishes to advise that around 3.00 pm today, water services were restored to the community of Silverleaves following a water main burst in the early hours of the morning.

A significant volume of water affected approximately 30 properties between Honeysuckle Grove and Silverleaves Avenue, with evidence of water entering sheds, garages and a number of residences.

Water levels are now subsiding. Westernport Water’s crews are still in attendance undertaking rectification works and working with property owners to remove excess water.

Westernport Water’s Customer Relations Team has been working throughout the day to contact affected property owners and will continue to work with property owners over the coming days.

The cause of the burst is still under investigation; however it appears that severe winds on Monday night have uprooted a large tree, impacting the water main.

All residents are advised to take caution on the roads in the next couple of days, as there will be large trucks and people working in the area.
