Between Shorland Way (Industrial Estate) and Sanctuary Drive (Shearwater Estate), Cowes | Water will remain available throughout construction unless otherwise advised. We will notify you at least 48 hours in advance of any planned service disruptions. | 13 Dec 2024 – 20 Dec 2024 | Between 13-20 December we will be installing an additional water main into Shearwater Estate, Cowes.
Currently there is only one potable water feed to this estate, and four recycle water feeds. Whenever there is a potable water main burst upstream of this estate, the whole estate (approx. 300 customers) go without water. By adding another potable water feed into this estate, we can minimise the impact on the number of customers affected in an event of a burst. We will be using trenchless construction under the road, and where possible, eliminating opening up the road/minimal disturbance and reinstatement. The new water main will then be swabbed, flushed, disinfected and pressure tested before hooking up to existing main, ensuring we get the best product/quality. Your water will remain available throughout construction unless otherwise advised. We will notify you at least 48 hours in advance of any planned service disruptions. |
