As part of our commitment to provide reliable service to our customers, we’re replacing water meters identified as being old and/or have experienced high usage.
The purpose of the meter replacement program is to ensure all customers are treated equitably with the accuracy of their usage readings for their water charges.
The replacement program is being conducted on a township-by-township basis.
Residents, landowners and property managers will be advised when their home or property is planned for a meter replacement.
Currently, there are over 19,000 residential water meters in use in our service area. Around 25% of water meters are now over 20 years old.
We are replacing approximately 800 water meters per year for the next 10 to 15 years.
We will also be replacing the stop tap at the properties identified for meter replacement.
