Project Overview

Westernport Water has three pipelines connected to the underside of the San Remo Bridge. The brackets connecting these pipelines to the bridge now require proactive maintenance work to extend the life of the pipelines for another 30 years.
Works will take place between 26 February 2023 and December 2024.
Westernport Water has been working with the Department of Transport & Planning (DTP) (the owner of the bridge) since November 2021 to ensure the works are planned in a way that minimises the impact to the broader community.
To minimise impacts to traffic and the community, suspended scaffolding will be attached under the bridge so that workers can safely access the pipelines without the need for lane closures.
Occasional partial lane closures will be required while navigational markers for marine users are relocated. This will occur during the day in off-peak times.
